So glad I finally remembered to check the day’s photo challenge before 9pm! I went out this morning to get some pictures of clouds but ALAS, there were none to be seen! Only a bright blue sky framed by those early Spring branches that look dead until you notice the tiny red buds all over them. All of it set to a noisy soundtrack of chirping birds and a woodpecker in our Maple.
By this afternoon, we had some lovely clouds moving in. A few white fluffs and feathery streaks in the sky. I tried to look up what kind they were but the illustrations were not so helpful. This post may not be as interesting as some of the others but it sparked great conversations with the girls. Elliet wished that clouds really were made of mashed potatoes (like on Charlie and Lola) while Kenai and Ziva agreed with me that they should definitely be cotton candy. We talked about finding shapes in the clouds and about how bizarre and amazing it is that they are made of water. We even described what we thought a cloud would feel like and taste like if we could grab a bit of one.
Every now and then my iphone will take a really amazing photo completely by accident and likely by malfunction. I was playing around with the camera late one night after upgrading to the 4. I pointed it at the moon and with the flash on, snapped a photo. It was very dark out and I was smoking a cigarette and this is what happened.
It happened again today as I was trying to get a few more shots of the clouds while I got everyone into the car for Kerewin’s trip to the vet. I aimed it at the sun and this is what came out.
And this is the same photo after I played around with my very limited editing tools.
