We have an iTunes reward credit card. We got it when we bought our first Macbook when we couldn’t POSSIBLY wait that extra couple of months until we could actually pay for it. So we don’t use it, it just stays in Jt’s wallet. Until he used it at Christmas to buy me gifts so that I wouldn’t see the charges. I’ve paid it off and received my reward iTunes card for $25. So today I was really excited to use it and I bought Adele’s 21 album and the Japan relief one. Then I realized I had forgotten to use the card. Ack! So we were eating dinner and me and the girls were singing the Veronica Mars song and I remembered that I wanted to download it. So I sat back down at the computer which is sitting on a tv tray with the iTunes card next to it and nothing else. So of course, I downloaded the song and then another song from the Ping recommendation and STILL forgot to use the card. GAH!!
Speaking of Veronica Mars. Ho.Ly. Hell. I’m not saying it’s *better* than Buffy but I was more addicted to it than I was to Buffy. For two weeks I’ve been up as late as 4am watching episode after episode. Now that I’m done all I can say is, “What. The. Fuck. That was not a series finale.” I did a search out of desperation. It is ONLY in the most dire of situations that I will consider fanfic and I must admit, I did consider it. However, I had a TERRIBLE experience reading Sookie Stackhouse fanfic so I limited my search to comics and “season 4”. So they did a season 4 mini-pilot and it has mixed reviews. I guess it flashes forward a couple of years to Veronica being at the FBI academy. Every link I tried no longer worked because Warner Brothers is hella-good at keeping their shit off the internet. There is the teeniest ray of hope for a movie. Kristen Bell has been trying to get a Twitter campaign going. Which, who could blame her, she’s been utterly forgettable in every other role. I’m not trying to diss her acting or anything (I love you VMars!) it’s just that I’ve seen her in other things but didn’t realize it until I IMDB’ed her. Maybe she just needs to land some more starring roles.
We’ve been talking about moving for, oh… about 5 years. We want to leave this neighborhood because we don’t really think the schools are a fit for the girls and because the neighborhood seems to be deteriorating a bit. And by “a bit” I mean that a taxi driver was shot in the face just a few blocks from here and also, we had a tire that was leaking and when we took it in there was A BULLET IN IT. Not even kidding. So we’ve been researching other neighborhoods for quite some time now. We seemed to have settled on Loveland but Jedd’s been throwing other stuff out there lately. (NO, I’m not going southeast, I’m just. NOT.) We enjoy driving through potential communities on the weekends to get a feel for them but every time we do this all I’m thinking is, “no way, I hate it here.” So I realized that I actually like it where we are now. I don’t want to get any more urban but I don’t think I could survive a real suburb. The problem of course, and it *is* a total first world problem, is that we need more space. Not a lot but we really are crowded here. So we could put a little money into this house and finish the basement but we’ll never get it back, I’m not sure housing prices here will recover at all. But I like it here so maybe we should look at some neighborhoods closer to the city.
In News of the TMI, I was scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy last week but had developed a sinus infection and had to reschedule. As of now I’ve not been able to breathe through my nose in over two weeks. It sucks.
