I Love a Good Funeral

Maybe it’s weird but I really like funerals.  When I see a funeral procession I feel all tingly inside.  There are two funeral homes within a mile of my house so there’s a lot of tingling.

It makes sense when you think about it.  I love anything that displays commonality between humans.  I cry through the Dancing Matt videos.  Well, first I squeeee! and then when other people join in with the dancing, that’s when I cry.  Funerals are a custom we all share.  When I see a procession I get the urge to pull over, the way I would for an emergency vehicle.  I feel like I’m observing something sacred that needs to be honored.  Which, in a way, brings me some measure of joy.

But I don’t like short processions.  That just makes me sad.

About Just Vegas

I'm a 30-something married SAHM which means the nightmare scenario that plagued my early 20's has become reality. Funny thing is, I kinda like it. I have 3 lovely daughters who are educated at home and at a part-time alternative school. I love animals and I love people (in the general sense, not everybody all the time). I have no income to speak of, I'm not crafty and I hate cooking. My skills include reading the internet, watching tv on the internet and conversing with people on the internet. I'm an armchair philosopher, spiritualist, agnostic, feminist, liberal, activist, political pundit and tv critic.

That reminded me to download the song from the Matt Video. LOVE the Matt video. I smile just thinking about it. You can submit your name to join in should he ever come to your area. Info on his website.

Down in Kentucky (Manchester area), when a procession goes by all traffic stops (inlcuding oncoming) and everyone turns on their headlights. Very respectful and it shows support for those who have lost someone they love. I have only seen that a couple of times but it stuck with me.
